According to report by Daily Post, President Bola Tinubu has submitted 55 nominations to the Nigerian Senate for confirmation of appointees to the North Central, South West, and South South Development Commissions. The nominees include chairmen and managing directors for each commission, such as Cosmas Akiyir and Cyril Yeltsin for the North Central Development Commission,

Senator Olubunmi Adetunbi and Dr. Charles Akinola for the South West Development Commission, and Chibudom Nwuche and Usoro Offiong Akpabio for the South South Development Commission. Following the submission, the nominees will undergo screening by the respective Senate committees before their confirmations. This development follows President Tinubu’s assent to the regional commission bill in February 2025, aimed at promoting regional development and cooperation.
