Oluwaseun, the wife of Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has returned to the state more than a year after her husband was elected governor. After months of rumors and, in particular, calls for her to go back to her husband because of their chilly relationship, Oluwaseun returned to the state.
During Saturday’s ceremony for the governor’s niece, which took place in the Government House Chapel, Aiyedatiwa’s wife reportedly made a spectacular comeback to the Government House. Allegations of a tense relationship with Aiyedatiwa, the deputy governor, caused Oluwaseun to purportedly leave the state. Leaders in the community had made a concerted effort to patch things up after the incident, and it was reported that her attendance before her husband’s inauguration on February 24 had paid off.
Sources claim that when the governor’s wife entered the chapel, everyone there cheered and applauded because they felt that the hole had been appropriately filled. “Her abrupt appearance may not be unrelated to the wedding and the growing demand by the people of Ondo State for her return,” one of the insiders said.Since her absence was viewed as a gap in governance, many have urged for her involvement in state issues. The assembly continued to applaud when the officiating priest at the chapel referred to the First Lady as Her Excellency upon seeing her.
