Bundesliga: Tella frustrated with substitute role at Bayer Leverkusen

Nathan Tella is unhappy with his limited playing time at Bundesliga champions, Bayer Leverkusen.

Tella scored the winning goal in Bayer Leverkusen’s DFB Pokal victory over Bayern Munich on Tuesday night.

The winger came off the bench in the 61st minute and nodded home the winner eight minutes later.

The former Burnley star has featured mostly as a substitute for Die Werkself this season.

The Nigerian expressed frustration with his status at the club.

“I’ll be honest, it’s been a really frustrating start to the season…but I can’t argue with the coach [Xabi Alonso],” Tella said after the game.

“He knows what’s best for the team.”
