In a message focused on prioritizing divine purpose, he warned that many Christians misplace their spiritual priorities by elevating church activities above the core mission of winning souls. Addressing the role of soul winning in a believer’s life, Pastor Ibiyeomie emphasized that seeking God wholeheartedly is incompatible with spiritual failure. According to him, those who genuinely pursue God and His interests cannot sink in life. He pointed out that while serving in church departments—such as the choir, ushering, or even preaching—is valuable, none of these supersedes the importance of bringing lost souls into the Kingdom. Pastor Ibiyeomie lamented that some believers place more importance on their roles or titles within the church than on reaching the unsaved. He stressed that God’s foremost desire is the salvation of souls, and that anyone who claims to love God must also love what God loves—primarily the redemption of humanity. According to him, “Amen! You can’t seek God and sink in life. You can’t seek after Him and then sink. And a principal requirement that validates our love for God is soul winning. You can’t say you love God and not love what God loves. I repeat, you can’t say you love God and not love what God loves. The thing God loves most is not sweeping the church. It’s not preaching. It’s not ushering. The thing God loves most is soul winning. But some of us place choir before soul winning. We place departments before soul winning. Even preachers place their preaching above soul winning. The greatest thing every believer must prioritize is soul winning.”
