The 2023 Labour Party, LP, presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has stressed the urgent need for Nigeria to prioritize education and healthcare, particularly for the girl child, as key steps towards national development.

In a post on his X handle, Obi underscored the significance of advocating for the rights of the girl child, calling it both a moral duty and a strategic investment in the nation’s future.

The former Anambra State governor, who spoke after engagements in Adamawa and Kaduna, highlighted the transformative impact of empowering girls through education, healthcare, and equal opportunities.

He explained that his visit to Kaduna’s Womanhood College of Health Sciences and Technology, where he donated N5 million, praising the institution’s role in training women for the healthcare sector.

Obi restated his commitment to supporting initiatives that foster inclusive development, stressing that dismantling barriers for girls is essential for building a sustainable and equitable future.
