EPL: Liverpool suffer major injury blow ahead of Man City clash

Liverpool will not have Ibrahima Konate available for the visit of Manchester City in the Premier League on Sunday.

Konate picked up an injury towards the end of their 2-0 win over Real Madrid in the Champions League on Wednesday night.

The France defender is now expected to be out for several weeks.

Confirming his layoff, Konate wrote on social media: “So frustrating to pick up this injury.

“Now we start the recovery process. But one thing I promise is I will come back and be the best I can be once again.”

Liverpool will be hoping to beat the champions at Anfield and open an 11-point gap between them.
