Southampton manager, Russell Martin has declared that he wants to keep Paul Onuachu at the club.
Onuachu spent last season on loan at Turkish Super Lig club, Trabzonspor.
The 30-year-old scored 15 goals in 21 league appearances for the former Super Lig champions.
The Black Sea Storm were however unable to sign him on permanent transfer this summer.
Onuachu has impressed for Southampton in recent weeks after a difficult start to the campaign.
Martin hopes the Nigerian will stay with the club for the remainder of the campaign.
“He was respectful and then so in January I’m sure there will be a few people that are interested in him again,” Martin was quoted by the Echo.
“I’m sure there will also be a few people kicking themselves that they clearly didn’t quite want him enough in the summer.
“For me, if Paul is happy, we’re really happy and we want him here as he can help us achieve what we want to achieve this season.”
