EPL: What Maresca told me, other Chelsea stars at half-time vs Tottenham – Sancho

Chelsea star, Jadon Sancho, has opened up on what his boss, Enzo Maresca told the players during the half-time break of their 4-3 Premier League win at Tottenham.

Before the break, Dominic Solanke and Dejan Kulusevski had put the notth Londoners in front.

England international, Sancho, pulled one back with a stunning long-range goal in the 17th minute.

At second half, the Blues emerged as the dominant outfit with Cole Palmer converted two penalties on either side of Enzo Fernandez’s 73rd-minute left-footed strike.

Korea international, Son Heung-min made it 3 for the north London in the sixth minute of injury time but it was to no avail for the Lillywhtes.

After the game, Sancho revealed that Maresca told him and his teammates that a win was within their grasp.

He told BBC Match of the Day, “Going 2-0 down in the first half was not ideal but I knew we’d come back into the game when we got that first goal.

“Going in at half-time, the gaffer was telling us we were in the game. I have so much belief in the players so I knew we’d come out firing.

“They’re very aggressive and we knew we’d catch them if we broke the lines and beat the press. The gaffer told us to stay wide and create the one-on-ones. I’ve been working on my shooting a bit more. The staff and the players have been telling me otherwise.”
