According to a report from Daily Post, Primate Elijah Ayodele, leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has sparked fresh political debate with claims that several governors from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are poised to align themselves with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 presidential election. The cleric made the statement on Friday, alleging that a number of PDP governors have already been compromised and are preparing to support the APC either directly or through behind-the-scenes negotiations.

According to Ayodele, the political landscape is shifting significantly in favor of the ruling party. He stated that governors from Akwa Ibom, Enugu, Oyo and Osun states are expected to play key roles in negotiations that may see their respective states lean toward the APC.
