EXCLUSIVE: The Pope “Reportedly Left Only $100 In His Account. He Was Just A Man of God” —Shehu Sani

Former Nigerian senator and human rights activist Shehu Sani has paid tribute to the late Pope, describing him as a true man of God who lived a life of humility and selflessness. In a post shared on his official X handle (formerly Twitter), the one-time leading figure in the struggle for the restoration of democracy in Nigeria explained the Pope’s prudent and Spartan lifestyle, noting that he gave all he had to the poor and reportedly left only $100 in his account.

The words of the President of the Civil Rights Congress of Nigeria, who was once the Chairman of Hand-in-Hand, read, “the Pope lived a prudent and Spartan life. He gave everything he had to the poor and the downtrodden. He reportedly left only $100 in his account. He was just a man of God and not of vanity or of prosperity. Rest in peace.”
