On October 5, the FCT Administration published a list of 3,273 landholders who were given a two-week ultimatum to settle their outstanding statutory fees. While 2,511 individuals and organizations complied, 762 failed to meet the deadline, leading to the revocation of their titles.
Explaining the significance of the action, Olayinka said, “People never believed that a minister like Wike will come and want to do things the right way, so it will be strange to a lot of people. When the advert was published on October 5 and names of about 3,273 were listed, they were given two weeks to pay. I think 2,511 paid, leaving out 762 that were published today. Some of them believed that nothing will happen.
