Godswill Akpabio Response After He Arrived At The Vatican City For The Burial Ceremony Of Pope Francis

The former executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio has reacted after he arrived the Vatican City ahead of the burial ceremony of Pope Francis. Pope Francis, who died on Easter Monday will be buried on Saturday.

Members of the delegation to the Vatican City are the Minister of State, Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Bianca Odumegwu Ojukwu; Archbishop Lucius Iwejuru Ugorji, President of the Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria. Other are Archbishop of Sokoto Diocese, Archbishop Matthew Hassan Kukah; and Archbishop of Abuja Diocese, Archbishop Ignatius Ayua Kaigama.

Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio, who is the incumbent Senate President noted that he paid tribute to the departed Pope, on behalf of President Bola Tinubu and the Nigerian People at the Lying-in-State of Pope Francis, inside St Peter’s Basilica, Vatican City.

The former executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio stated on his verified Facebook page on Friday; “As the Leader of Nigeria’s delegation to the burial ceremony of Pope Francis, I paid tribute to our departed Pope, on behalf of President Bola Tinubu and the Nigerian People at the Lying-in-State of Pope Francis, inside St Peter’s Basilica, Vatican City.”
