
Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, has appointed Yakubu Haidara as the new Head of the State Civil Service, following the retirement of Ahmad Liman on February 28.
The appointment was announced in a statement on Wednesday by the Secretary to the State Government, Abubakar Nakwada.
Governor Lawal praised the outgoing Head of Service for his dedication and urged Haidara to lead with professionalism.
“The government appreciates Ahmad Liman’s service and dedication over the years. I call on the new Head of Service to discharge his duties with integrity and ensure strict adherence to public service rules,” the governor stated.
The appointment takes immediate effect.
Haidara, a seasoned administrator, graduated with a degree in Political Science from Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, in 1989.
He became a Permanent Secretary in 2012 and has since served in several ministries, departments, and agencies.
Until his new appointment, he was the Permanent Secretary for Cabinet Affairs in the Office of the Secretary to the State Government.
