“I stand firmly behind the president and will continue to support his administration,” said Pastor Umo Eno, the governor of Akwa Ibom State, in a public statement endorsing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2027 reelection campaign.In a video clip released on Friday, April 18, 2025, Governor Eno expressed frustration with what he described as political double-speak by some individuals who privately pledge support for Tinubu but act differently in public.
Governor Eno’s comments follow his earlier statements made on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, during the flag-off ceremony of the Akwa Ibom section of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway project.At that event, the governor made a passionate case for continued cooperation between his state and the federal government, under the leadership of President Tinubu.While addressing a large crowd at the ceremony, Eno praised Tinubu’s commitment to development and pledged the state’s full support for his administration.
“Let me end by assuring our president, our people-loving president who will complete eight years because we are going to stand by him, and this is the truth. He cannot start this work and abandon it; somebody else may not finish it,” he said.The governor’s open and consistent support for President Tinubu stands out amid growing speculation over the 2027 presidential election and the alignment of various political leaders ahead of the race.
