“I Got Married in My Early Twenties, I Lost My Husband Barely Three Years Into My Marriage” – Chukwu by Citynobs May 28, 2025, 4:45 am Popular Nollywood actress, Regina Chukwu, has opened up about her personal struggles, early widowhood, and the lessons life has taught her, during a heartfelt conversation on the Talk To B Show. Sharing her painful past, Chukwu said, “I got married in my early twenties, I lost my husband barely three years into my marriage. My last child was just four months when their father died.” Her revelation shed light on the emotional and financial hardship she endured as a young widow with two children. Chukwu also spoke about how joining the Yoruba movie industry shaped her outlook and temperament. “It was after I joined Yoruba movie industry that someone would abuse me and I will let it go, before it would feel like you have used a needle on me,” she said, highlighting her growth in patience and maturity. “I don’t know how to banter words with people, we would just go physical. Let’s fight and not keep malice because I don’t know how to. We would draw the battle line and go physical and immediately I will feed you with sand.” The actress reflected on her tough personality, shaped by her environment and life experiences. “You will always find me where there is fight but I will never be at fault,” she stated. “I won’t be young because I lived with the Yorubas and the Yoruba says learn how to explain yourself before you learn to fight. That made me realise that there must be a reason behind every anger.”
