Speaking during an interview on Oriyomi Unfiltered Realm, the entertainer recounted the unexpected turn her love life took in the past. In the revealing conversation, Bose narrated how she was once in a serious relationship with a man before crossing paths with Sunny Ade. According to her, she had planned a future with her then-boyfriend, who later secured a visa to travel abroad. In preparation for a possible engagement, she took him to meet her mother for formal family introductions. However, her mother disapproved of the relationship, expressing doubts about the long-distance nature of their future, especially in an era when keeping in touch across continents was a major challenge. Despite her mother’s reservations, Bose said she remained hopeful and committed. Once her boyfriend travelled abroad, their communication became difficult due to the limited availability of mobile phones at the time. They relied mostly on letters to stay in touch. Over the course of four years, she patiently waited for his return, believing they would reunite and move forward with their wedding plans. Her hopes, however, were dashed when she received a letter from a friend who had also travelled to the same country. The friend revealed that her boyfriend had married another woman abroad and already had children. The news marked the end of that chapter in her life and eventually opened the door for her to move on. She said: “Before I got married to Sunny Ade, I was in a relationship with another man. This boyfriend of mine applied for a visa, and it was approved for him to travel abroad. I took him to meet my mother so we could begin the process of formally introducing ourselves to each other’s families. However, my mother refused to allow me to get engaged to him because she was unsure of what the future would hold once he traveled. She was concerned that I wouldn’t be able to know what he was truly doing while abroad. After he traveled, communication between us became very difficult because, at the time, mobile phones were not as available or common as they are now. So we resorted to exchanging letters. I waited for him for four years. He was supposed to return to Nigeria so we could begin planning our wedding. However, I received a separate letter from my friend, who had also traveled to the same country, informing me that my boyfriend was already married abroad and had children.”
