In Cross River State, a 29-year-old man has been taken into custody by the police on suspicion of ritually killing his mother. SP Irene Ugbo, the state’s Police Command spokesperson, told reporters in Calabar on Friday that the suspect had been arrested and detained, but she did not provide any other information. According to a reliable source, the arrest was made on Friday by a team of police and the Obudu Council area security team. The suspect reportedly disposed of his mother’s body in a well in Obudu LGA, and security personnel have been pursuing him ever since. The source stated that the suspect, who was taken into custody with a native physician, would be taken to the state command for additional examination.
