According to a report by The Standard, Chelsea have completed the sale of promising young goalkeeper Kai Crampton to Bournemouth. The highly rated teenager, who turns 18 this month, is looking forward to a “good start” to his professional career.
Crampton, a stands out talent from Chelsea’s academy, has represented England at Under-15, -16, and -17 levels. Last season, he gained senior experience during a loan spell with Isthmian League side Concord Rangers and played a key role in Chelsea’s Under-17 Premier League Cup victory.
This season, he further honed his skills with National League South team Hampton & Richmond.
The move to Bournemouth reunites Crampton with Kepa Arrizabalaga, Chelsea’s senior goalkeeper currently on loan at the south coast club, who previously trained alongside Chelsea’s youth teams.
This marks Chelsea’s second transfer activity of the window after recalling Aaron Anselmino from his loan at Boca Juniors.
The sale of Crampton reflects Chelsea’s commitment to developing young players and facilitating their transitions into senior football.
