Man allegedly hangs self in Ogun

The Police in Ogun State on Saturday confirmed the death of Fatai Hamzat, who allegedly hanged himself in the Ijeun Tuntun area of Abeokuta.

Hamzat was found hanging from a rope tied to a ceiling fan in his apartment on Oremeji Street.

Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, confirmed the incident to DAILY POST. She said the deceased was discovered by a neighbor around 7 a.m. on Friday.

According to Odutola, a neighbor noticed Hamzat’s motorcycle parked in the compound and, upon checking on him, found the door locked from the inside. After repeated knocking with no response, the neighbors, including one identified as Ogunsola, forced open a window and found Hamzat hanging from the ceiling fan.

Odutola stated that investigations are ongoing, and the body has been taken to a nearby hospital morgue for an autopsy.

“The deceased was found hanging in his apartment after several attempts to reach him failed. An investigation into the incident is ongoing,” she said.
