Okowa: I Wouldn’t Know What Atrocity You Committed That APC Will Cow You Into Submission -Abdullahi

 

 

The Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr. Ibrahim Abdullahi, has raised pointed questions about what might have compelled former Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and his successor, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, to defect to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

In a candid interview with Arise TV, Abdullahi attributed the decision to “greed, avarice, and selfishness,” explicitly questioning the legitimacy of abandoning party loyalties. “The decision is informed by greed, avarice, and selfishness. You cannot see why a governor will move away from his party,” Abdullahi stated.

The PDP Chieftain acknowledged speculation about Okowa’s influence on the current governor’s defection, noting: “Some will argue that the former vice presidential candidate was instrumental to the movement, and it can be understood from that context, but it is sad.” Dr. Abdullahi further suggested the defections might be motivated by efforts to escape accountability: “Because I wouldn’t know what atrocity you committed that the APC will cow you into submission with the entire machinery of the state. He literally lured the governor into that conundrum. Whatever it is they want to escape from, it, we will see it in the fullness of time.”

He delivered a scathing assessment of the decision and its implications: “But then I want to assure you, it’s a very reckless decision, it’s a condemnable one. PDP is sad, and PDP is disappointed.” While avoiding detailed personal criticism, he concluded with a thinly veiled reference to character concerns: “But in any case, you don’t expect anything from the character of the person of the governor. I wouldn’t want to speak about personality, but honestly speaking, those who trace his antecedents would see why he will find comfort in this kind of movement, but it’s sad.”
