Omotosho: “Despite My Beauty, I Dated A Bus Driver Who Had Only One Cloth

In order for other women to learn from her mistakes, Arike-ade Omotosho has come out to talk about her marriage to her bus driver husband. She also discusses the difficulties she faced in the relationship prior to their breakup. In a video that was posted on the official YouTube channel of Oriyomi Unfiltered Realm TV, during an interview with media personality Oriyomi Hamzat, she explained she rejected the man that her father gave her to marry, and she decided to be in a relationship with a bus driver who had only one piece of clothing at the time, saying that he was the one who took her virginity.

In her statement, she said, “My father wanted to marry me to a stranger that I don’t know from anywhere, but I refused, and he later allowed me to bring a man of my choice. I met a man from Ilorin, he was a bus driver, and he toasted me for seven years before I agreed to be in a relationship with him. Some people said I’m supposed to marry a king and not a bus driver because I’m beautiful. Unfortunately for me, I didn’t know that he already had two children with two women, and when I asked him, he told me that they are his elder brother’s children. I later got to find out that they are his children, and my mother insisted that I wouldn’t marry him, but I refused to listen to her. Despite my beauty, I dated a bus driver who had only one cloth, and he took my virginity. I got married to him, and on our wedding day he couldn’t pay my bride price, and I was the one who gave him the money to pay for the bride price. If I had married the man that my dad gave me to marry, my parent would have bought everything that I needed on my wedding day for me.”
