In a video clip shared by Symfoni on their official YouTube channel, Briggs expressed scepticism, stating that she has yet to hear a clear explanation of what Fubara is expected to apologise for. She argued that without a specific reason, it would be premature to demand an apology and further noted that credit for Wike’s political rise should also be given to former President Goodluck Jonathan and his wife.
The words of Briggs in the video clip read, “personally, I can’t recall where the minister of the Federal Capital Territory has ever said exactly what the governor of Rivers State should apologise for. I don’t think that I have heard it anywhere so far. So before I agree or disagree that there is a need for the governor of Rivers State to apologise to him, I need to know what he is apologising for.”
She further added, “is Fubara apologising for being the governor, doing the right thing or that he is ungrateful that the FCT minister is the one that made him governor? the FCT minister should not forget that Goodluck Jonathan, the former president of Nigeria, and his wife are the people that made him governor. If apologising needs to be done, I think it should start from way back before politics got to the governor of Rivers State.”
