Suspected Ritualist Caught After Attempting to Use a Two-Month-Old Baby for Money Ritual

 

 

According to DAILY POST,the Ogun State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has arrested a suspected ritualist named Samuel Adewunmi, popularly called Ifa Science after he was accused of causing serious injury to a two-month-old baby by cutting a part of the baby’s body, precisely at the back of the head. This disturbing incident was revealed in a statement issued by the state commandant, Remilekun Ekundayo and shared with the press on Wednesday.

The arrest was made possible after the baby’s father, 53-year-old Kola Taiwo, reported the crime to the NSCDC and upon receiving the information, officers quickly moved in and arrested Adewunmi.

He is currently being held and investigated by the intelligence and investigations department of the command while Ekundayo emphasized that this crime is a serious offense under the Criminal Code Laws of Ogun State and assured the public that the command will do everything possible to ensure justice is served.

The commandant also warned parents to be very careful about their children’s safety and whereabouts while advising parents to be watchful and to question anyone who comes near their children. She stressed that anyone who tries to harm others, especially children will face the full force of the law. This case has raised alarm in the community, highlighting the dangers of ritual activities and the importance of protecting young children from harm as the NSCDC’s swift action showed their strong commitment to protecting people and fighting against crime in Ogun State.

Parents and guardians are advised to remain vigilant and report any suspicious behavior to the authorities immediately. The NSCDC remains determined to prevent crimes by all means necessary and to bring offenders to justice while sending a clear message that the law will not tolerate acts of violence or harm against innocent people in the state.
