In other games, Bayern Munich thrashed Shakhtar Donetsk 5-1 and PSG hammered Salzburg 3-0.

Ross Barkley scored the winner as Aston Villa edged Leipzig 3-2 and Liverpool continued their perfect run with a 1-0 win at Girona.
