Asabe Moses, one of the survivors of the deadly Plateau killings, has provided chilling details of her encounter with the attackers. During an interview on Arise TV News, she described the terrifying moment armed men stormed her community, unleashing death and destruction with calculated intent. According to Moses, the attackers were Fulani herdsmen who invaded her village in the dead of night. She recounted that the men spoke a dialect she recognized, and their threatening words indicated a clear intent to carry out a massacre. They issued death threats, burned homes, and made statements that deeply rattled the faith of their victims.

Her family was among those wiped out. She lost her husband and three sons in one night—children aged 14, 10, and 2.She herself sustained severe burns, and her six-year-old daughter, who survived, was also injured in the chaos. They hid in another room as their house was set ablaze, emerging only after the attackers had left. Moses emphasized that the attackers seemed to act with impunity, knowing that there was no immediate security response.

In her words; “The night they came, they were speaking their language and after speaking their dialects, they said, “Where is your God? We are going to kill you today. We are going to burn your houses.” They killed my three sons—one 14 years, one 10, and the last one is 2 years old. They also killed my husband too and burned our houses. That is why I’m having these burns.”
