Why I Told My Wife I Am Not in a Celebration Mood for Our Wedding Anniversary – Pastor Paul Enenche Reveals

 

 

Dr. Paul Enenche, the Senior Pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, recently revealed why he chose not to mark his wedding anniversary with celebration, despite prior plans.Speaking via a recent YouTube video, the preacher explained that the ongoing killings across several Nigerian states left him too burdened to celebrate.

“My wife brought out the traditional attire we planned to wear for our anniversary,” he said. “But I told her I was not in a celebration mood. Blood is flowing like water in this nation—Plateau, Benue, Kogi—and nobody seems to care.” Pastor Enenche said he was already scheduled to preach that evening, so he went ahead with the message, but not in celebration mode. “I told her, ‘I’m going to preach, but I don’t feel like celebrating,’” he said.

He lamented how some communities have become battlegrounds where innocent lives are lost and farmland is destroyed by evil agents. “They come to uproot your harvest, shed blood on your ancestral land, and feed their animals,” he cried. “What evil did we do in this country to deserve this?” Enenche emphasized that his grief was not personal but national. He shared how he had been on a call with a village pastor from a ravaged area, listening to the heartbreaking account of casualties, including members of the pastor’s own family.

In his words, “Sometimes I feel ashamed traveling abroad to preach when our own nation is bleeding. If not for the belief that I am sowing seeds for our national deliverance, I wouldn’t even go.” Concluding with prayer, Enenche led his congregation to cry out to God for peace and divine intervention over Nigeria. “We ask that You cut off the spirit of evil and blood-sucking principalities,” he prayed passionately.
