For those who admire Nwosu, his position under military rule was an impossible one, with immense pressure and threats against his life. However, to his detractors, history cannot ignore that courage is measured by action in critical moments. If others were willing to risk everything for democracy, why did he not?
Democracy thrives on accountability. While people are free to praise Nwosu, others have the right to question his decisions. Honoring him posthumously raises a fundamental question: Should history reward hesitation in the face of duty? The June 12 struggle was won by those who defied oppression, not those who retreated.
