The town was shocked and in mourning after the incident, which happened on Boxing Day. The devastating news was posted on Facebook by Prince Agbara, a friend of the dead. Agbara claims that Dr. Tony, who was healthy on Christmas Day, unfortunately died the next day after drinking the tainted beverage.
It is discouraging. Someone who was alive and well on the 25th was poisoned by his kinsman on the 26th through alcohol, and he only vomited. Agbara added in his post, “My friend fled with his family after realizing he had died.”
The suspected offender reportedly left the village with his family after learning of the doctor’s passing. Many residents have expressed concern over the tragedy and demanded justice and a comprehensive inquiry. The authorities have not yet made an official announcement or verified whether they are making any attempts to capture the culprit.
