Her comments coincide with claims of power abuse by Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan and sexual harassment against Senate President Godswill Akpabio. She rejected worries about the Senate’s handling of issues in an interview with reporters ahead of International Women’s Day, stating that senators are “doing what is needful.” The Senate should be a place of honor, not controversy, according to Tinubu, a 12-year senator.
“I know what’s going on in the Senate, you might ask, why am I not taking oppositions?” she asked. Since that’s what it is, I think the Senate is acting appropriately. is an inside location with mature chambers. Such stuff shouldn’t be heard by us. It is a mature chamber that has to be respected. Being there by yourself is an honor for you.
“I’ve been there for 12 years, even when I was younger, and I’m still trying to look young. People always compliment you, but women, get up and don’t put yourself in a position where men will talk to you anyway.” It’s always possible to stop them before they begin.
Mrs. Tinubu honored the accomplishments on March 8, International Women’s Day.
