Ahmed Musa, the captain of the Super Eagles, was instrumental in Kano Pillars’ exciting 3-2 victory over Barau FC at Sani Abacha Stadium, which sealed the Kano FA Cup. As Maisu Gida won their first title of the season, Hadi Olarewaju stole the show with an incredible hat-trick and Musa’s assist on his second goal.
Inter Lagos defeated NPFL team Ikorodu City on penalties to become the new Lagos State FA Cup champions. Wisdom Ubani missed the game-winning penalty kick for two-time reigning champions Ikorodu City, but Inter won 5-4 in the shootout following a goalless draw in ordinary time. Akwa United defeated Eagle Eye Academy 1-0 in Akwa Ibom to win the Imo State FA Cup.
In the 75th minute, Ibrahim Akande scored the game-winning goal with an incredible volley over the goalie to guarantee Akwa United’s spot in the national Federation Cup. In Owerri, Heartland FC defeated OISA FC 2-0 under the direction of former Golden Eaglets U-17 World Cup champion coach Emmanuel Amunike. Amunike won his first championship as Heartland manager thanks to two goals from Surajudeen Lawal in the second half.
Nasarawa United easily defeated FC Basira 2-0 at the Lafia City Stadium to win the Nasarawa FA Cup. The NPFL team won thanks to goals from Shina Kumater and Garba Abubakar just before and after halftime. Nasarawa United won ₦200,000 as champions, and FC Basira, the runners-up, got ₦100,000. After defeating Assemblies of God FC 3-0, Bendel Insurance was declared the Edo State FA Cup champions in Benin.
Ibadan warriors Shooting Stars defeated Crown FC of Ogbomoso 4-2 on penalties to win the Oyo FA Cup in Oyo State. Goalie Mustapha Lawal saved two penalty kicks to give 3SC the victory after a goalless draw in regulation time.
Plateau United defeated Mighty Jets Feeder 2-0 in Jos to win the Plateau State President Federation Cup. Rangers defeated Ijele FC 3-0 at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in Enugu to win the 2025 Enugu State Federation Cup. Following an early departure the previous year, Fidelis Ilechukwu’s team made amends. 2018 was the last time the Flying Antelopes took home the President Federation Cup. The national Federation Cup is still being defended by the El-Kanemi Warriors.
