According to a statement released by Folarin on Wednesday, Falana, the Chairman of the CDHR’s Board of Trustees, revealed this information when he saw Abraham at his residence in Ikeja GRA, Lagos. Falana has volunteered to file charges against the suspended king for violating fundamental human rights, according to the human rights campaigner.
“Elder Areola Abraham, JP, was welcomed by Femi Falana, SAN, Chairman of the Committee for the Defence for Human Rights CDHR Board of Trustees, in the audience today Wednesday at his Falana & Falana’s Chamber at Adekunle Fajuyi, GRA, Ikeja,” he stated. After being briefed on the issue, Falana has decided to pursue it and intends to file a lawsuit alleging that the victim’s fundamental human rights were violated. He gave the victim his word that the chamber would offer the required legal support and that his fundamental rights would be respected.
Falana’s dedication to the cause of the oppressed, the emancipation of an egalitarian society, and a world where human rights are respected by all has been praised by Folorin, who escorted Abraham to the activist lawyer’s chamber. Comrade Soyombo Sunday, a human rights investigator and former chairman of CDHR Ogun, was also present during the audience.
Our correspondent was informed on Wednesday by Yinka Odukoya, the state spokesperson for the Nigerian Correctional Service, that Oba Ogunjobi was remanded in a correctional center in Ilaro, Ogun State, on Tuesday after he failed to fulfill the conditions of his bail as set forth by the Ifo Magistrate Court. On Monday, the state government also issued a statement suspending Oba Ogunjobi for six months for actions that appear to bring the highly esteemed traditional seat into disrepute.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
