There was also a noticeable level of security on the state’s main thoroughfares, with Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps officers and armed police officers erecting barricades at the secretariat doors. The Osogbo/Kwara boundary road, the Osogbo/Ilesa route, and the Osogbo/Ibokun road all had security checks. Nonetheless, business as usual went on unhindered throughout the state capital.

Former Special Adviser on Education to former Governor Adegboyega Oyetola, Jamiu Olawumi, reviewed the situation in an interview and said that the chairmen and council members had returned to their duties in all 30 local government areas. The chairmen had instructed local government employees to resume work by Wednesday, Olawumi continued. In Osun State, all local governments and area councils, including Irewole Local Government, have reopened with their respective chairmen and council members.

“The local council development areas and local governments are thriving and active.” As directed by the Inspector General of Police, responsible police officers, DSS, and Civil Defense troops maintain strict security. The majority of the chairmen have instructed their staff to return to work by Wednesday at the latest in news releases that were released this morning. If they don’t come back after Wednesday, their job status will be decided. “The deadline is 72 hours,” he stated.

Chairmen and council members elected in the Saturday local government elections were instructed by Governor Ademola Adeleke to refrain from returning to their council offices just yet during a swearing-in ceremony on Sunday. Because of the ongoing conflict between Adeleke and the state’s APC, the Nigeria Labour Congress state chapter had also advised workers in all LGAs to stay at home before to the election. Kola Olabisi, the state APC chairman, was contacted by our correspondent in the interim, and he pledged to reply as soon as feasible.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
