The home of the late Pa Ayodele Adebanjo, the leader of the pan-Yoruba socio-cultural group Afenifere, was visited by former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi, and Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God. Rhodes-Vivour said in a Sunday article on X.com: “Earlier today, we joined the Adebanjo family in prayers for God’s strength and comfort as well as gratitude. “Pa Adebanjo led a full life and was constantly eager to impart his beliefs, principles, and worldview to the following generation. He was a man of principles who personified fairness, equity, and true federalism. We honor lives that have an impact and are lived to the utmost.
The visit on Sunday came after the 96-year-old Afenifere leader passed away at his home in Lekki, Lagos State, on Friday.
The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, the governor of Enugu State, Dr. Peter Mbah, and Senate President Godswill Akpabio have all offered their condolences for Adebanjo’s passing. His death has also been lamented by the Middle Belt Forum, the apex Igbo socio-cultural organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, and former Ekiti State Governor Kayode Fayemi.
