Defectors returned to the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Saturday in Kaduna, including former senator Shehu Sani, who represented Kaduna Central, and former state governor Alhaji Muktar Ramalan Yero, who ran for governor as the New Nigeria Peoples Party’s candidate in the previous election.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
Uba Sani, the governor of the state, greeted them and assured other newcomers that they would have the same rights and benefits as all other party members. “Someone who joins APC today and the one who has been a foundation member ten years ago are of the same status,” Governor Sani stated Saturday while speaking to party supporters in the state capital’s Murtala Square. They will have the same benefits and rights.
He asked the new members to inform their supporters that the APC was still open to accepting more defectors and that they were welcome to join the party. Sani asserts that the APC’s fair leadership at the state and federal levels is the reason for its acceptance and popularity. With President Bola Tinubu in the forefront, he said he was confident the party will win the 2027 elections from top to bottom.
“The electorate will support the APC in every election, from the top to the bottom, in 2027. Our leader, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, will be elected at the highest level. By God’s grace, the party would win votes in the state assembly, national, and gubernatorial elections, Governor Sani stated. In addition, he pledged that his government would carry out projects throughout Kaduna State, irrespective of political party affiliations or ethnic or religious beliefs.
Governance is not the same as politics. Because that is the oath of office that we swore to respect as leaders, we will treat everyone fairly, regardless of whether they voted for us,” he continued. The governor also reminded the audience that leaders will be judged in the afterlife based on how they managed the people that God had given them.
Notable individuals like former Senator Shehu Sani, who represented Kaduna Central in the Senate; former Governor of Kaduna State Alhaji Mukhtar Ramalan Yero; Senator Suleiman Hunkuyi, who ran for governor of the New Nigeria Peoples Party in the most recent election; and Senator Danjuma Laah, who represented Zone three in the upper legislative chamber on the platform of the PDP, are among the new members who switched parties. Other candidates include former Nigerian envoy to South Korea Ambassador Sule Buba, former Action Democratic Party national organizing secretary Alhaji Abubakar Mustapha, and previous governor candidate Alhaji Sani Shaaban, who ran on the platform of the state’s Action Democratic Party.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
