On January 16, Assistant Director APD Chukwura Frank issued an internal memo on behalf of the Executive Secretary approving the invitations. The document, headlined Re: Invitation by EFCC on Investigation of Misappropriation of Public Funds, instructed the invited employees to bring their international passports to the EFCC office.146 NCPC employees, including active and retired officials, have been called to the EFCC’s Abuja headquarters to be questioned, according to a source inside the anti-graft organization. We have invited roughly 146 employees to be questioned as part of the EFCC’s ongoing investigation into the NCPC. They have been given specified times to report to the EFCC headquarters between Monday and Friday.
The invitations were approved in an internal memo signed by Assistant Director APD Chukwura Frank on behalf of the Executive Secretary on January 16. The memo advised the invited workers to bring their international passports to the EFCC office and was titled Re: Invitation by EFCC on Investigation of Misappropriation of Public Funds.
The message said, “I am directed to inform you that 146 officers of the Commission, both serving and retired, have been invited by the EFCC for an interview and to bring their international passports for this purpose.” It further stated that the interviews would begin at 10:00 am on the specified days at the EFCC headquarters in Jabi, Abuja.
Senior authorities were planned to appear on a number of occasions between January 22 and January 27, 2025, according to the memo. These officials included the Assistant Chief Accountant, Principal Procurement Officer, and Principal Planning Officer, among others. The aforementioned magazine was unable to obtain comments from NCPC spokeswoman Celestine Ogugua and EFCC Head of Media and Publicity Dele Oyewale.
