Prior to today, the PDP and the government argued that they had a pending ruling that allowed them to hold tomorrow’s poll, despite Prince Lateef Fagbemi, the Federation’s Chief Law Officer, providing a sound legal opinion.
However, by refusing to let the court process proceed from the beginning, the government and PDP are taking a desperate step to fix the flaws they caused themselves by obtaining a ruling from a state High Court this afternoon. Naturally, the only parties involved in this most recent lawsuit are them. Is that what the law says? Well, I hope our business mogul and elder brother of our current Governor, Dr. Deji Adeleke, who had promised in July 2022 that he would be the first to address the press if his brother, our Governor, derailed in the administration of the state.
I’m curious as to what is happening if it’s not derailment. If not, how can a sane person believe that the State High Court’s decision will supersede an appeal court’s legitimate decision? Feel free to mistreat me. I would continue to keep an eye on events in Osun anyway. Together, we own it. Our stakes are equal. We need to remind ourselves of our perspective, men and women of conscience. If we really want a new society, it’s time to go above party boundaries and consider Osun first.
I think there’s still time for Dr. Deji Adeleke to convince his brother to change his mind about the risky course he’s on. Regardless matter whether you support the PDP or the APC, it is in everyone’s best interest for Osun to stay safe. We shall all suffer greatly if it burns, God forbid. Our children will never forgive us all, and our state will foot the bill.
