For nearly two years, Rivers State Governor Sim Fubara has prevailed over his predecessor, Nyesom Wike, primarily in matters pertaining to the house of assembly and local government. Even though all of the nation’s political analysts and leaders praised Fubara, Primate Ayodele of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church cautioned him against Wike since it was intended to remove him from his position as governor. Primate Ayodele has stated on multiple occasions in various videos and interviews that even if Fubara is celebrating his win, he needs to remain vigilant because Wike will fight him till the very end.
Primate Ayodele requested in one of the tapes that the governor prepare for a tough war because Wike will not pardon him until he defeats him. The governor of Rivers State should be prepared for a fierce conflict since his predecessor will not pardon him and would turn his party against him. His troubles had only just begun, and there are yet many more to come. The governor won’t do anything that will be praised.
In another, he stated that unless he goes all out, he fears that they will impeach Fubara. Additionally, he disclosed that unless Fubara takes all necessary precautions, a scenario in which two governors emerge in Rivers State will occur. “Wike wants to take down Fubara entirely.” Unless he goes all out, I’m afraid they’ll impeach Fubara. Either two governors will emerge in Rivers State, or they will impeach him. The state’s issue won’t be resolved anytime soon. They will hold elections for state congresses and other offices, but he will not win support.
The supreme court’s historic rulings yesterday threw Fubara’s recent success into the red sea; the local government election was declared invalid and the assembly leadership loyal to former governor Nyesom Wike was reinstated. This simply implies that in order for the restored leadership to take over, the incumbent leadership of the house will need to resign. Will Primate Ayodele’s prediction of Fubara’s impeachment materialize given the problems that existed prior to the removal of the previous leadership?
