The aura of invincibility was lifted on January 1, 2025, when NDLEA operatives acting on intelligence intercepted a white Isuzu truck. Babafemi disclosed that the car was being driven by 41-year-old Abideen Adio, one of Elediye’s workers, when it was found to be carrying 44 enormous sacks containing 1,540 kg of imported cannabis.

On January 1, 2025, 61-year-old Alhaja Aishat Feyisara Ajoke Elediye, a well-known Lagos socialite and wanted drug kingpin, was apprehended by National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) agents in a major breakthrough. Alhaja Elediye, notoriously known in the drug underworld as “Iya Ruka” and called Alhaja Ajoke in social circles, had been able to hide her true name for years, according to a statement issued by NDLEA spokesperson Femi Babafemi.
