BREAKING: Rivers Governor Fubara Receives New Ultimatum: Resign Within 48 Hours Or Face Impeachment

Governor Siminalayi Fubara has received a new ultimatum from Chief Tony Okocha, the chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, stating that he must quit within 48 hours or risk impeachment. “As a political party, we are today advising the governor; there are two options, resign honorably or be impeached. That is the position of the All Progressives Congress,” Okocha said, accusing Governor Fubara of disrespecting President Bola Tinubu, especially in his handling of the ongoing political crisis in Rivers State. He claimed that the governor had failed to honor the president’s peace initiatives, which prompted the APC to take a firm stance.

The APC would not tolerate the governor’s disobedience, Okocha added, adding, “He has disrespected Mr. President, and we told him that we cannot be here and have him disrespect Mr. President. The offenses are there; the Supreme Court has concurred and even provided us with extra evidence. The House of Assembly does not need to form up any committee again to probe him.”
