the statement after the Nigerian Senate suspended her for six months due to the sexual harassment accusation against Godswill Akpabio, the Senate President. On Thursday, March 6, 2025, the Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges, and Public Petitions had previously suggested that Natasha be suspended. The committee declared that during the suspension time, Natasha’s security information and income would be removed.
This comes after a contentious altercation in the Senate last Thursday during which Akpoti-Uduaghan objected to Akpabio’s allocation of her seat and refused to relocate to her new location. She later claimed in a television broadcast that the Senate President had harassed her sexually and denied her access to the Senate chamber because she had rejected his advances.
Natasha claimed that every time her motions were brought up, the Senate President would always prevent them from being heard on the floor, and that some of her coworkers suggested that she meet with Akpabio in private in his office.
