Our correspondent was informed by trustworthy sources that several locals fled into the jungle for safety as a result of the Sunday night event. Unfortunately, the terrorists who were fleeing planted Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) along the Konduga-Kawuri road to prevent any reinforcement of troops from Konduga. It was also learned that the military had engaged the terrorists during the encounter, and that the attackers were later repelled, as no casualties were reported. Additionally, according to sources, one of the CJTF members, Abba Godori, went onto the EIDs and was immediately slain on Tuesday morning when reinforcement troops successfully maneuvered their way into Kawuri by the same route.
Even as he bemoaned the renewed attacks on Borno communities since the beginning of this year, a retired senior civil servant in the community confirmed the incident, despite all attempts to obtain confirmation from Police Public Relations Officer ASP Kenneth Daso failing at the time of publication.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
