A female student is expelled from UNIZIK after assaulting a lecturer.

As you may remember, the school administration opened an investigation into a fight that broke out between a professor in the Department of Theatre Arts and Goddy-Mbakwe Chimamaka Precious, a third-year student, over a TikTok video that was shot on campus.

As the lecturer, Dr. Chukwudi Okoye, tried to pass, Precious was seen dancing and recording a TikTok video along a hallway in the widely shared video. The student was obviously irritated that her video had been cut off when he gave her a quick tap on the shoulder to go through. Precious was seen on camera turning in exasperation and saying, “Imagine! Why would he do that to me? When the lecturer heard her comment and came back to confront her, the scene became much more heated.

The professor was accused by Precious of biting him on the wrist and arm, dragging him among the spectators, and striking her. The lecturer seemed to remain calm throughout the incident. The school administration launched an investigation as a result of the development. According to a statement signed by Victor I. Modebelu, the institution’s acting registrar, the student has been found guilty and expelled based on a report submitted by the Student Disciplinary Committee, which looked into the assault case, according to an update on the situation provided by Naija News.

According to the announcement, Precious was convicted of egregious misconduct and breaking the Student Disciplinary Regulations. In light of this, she was immediately expelled from Nnamdi Azikwe University by the acting vice chancellor, who did so on behalf of the University Senate. She was also instructed to leave the school grounds right away in the statement dated February 13, 2025.
