Dokubo, a well-known critic of bad governance, emphasized that she has never been one to compromise her principles for financial gain. She insisted that her unwavering dedication to truth and justice has shaped her career and public image.
According to her, those who truly know her, including the embattled Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, understand that she is not susceptible to bribery.
The actress’s comments come amid speculations that she had organized a political rally on behalf of Fubara to put pressure on President Bola Tinubu and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.
The rally, which reportedly took place on March 25, 2025, led to accusations that she was being used as a political tool in the ongoing power tussle within the state. Following these allegations, rumors of her death began circulating on social media, causing panic among her supporters and loved ones.
Dokubo refuted all claims linking her to the political event, stating that such accusations were baseless.
She expressed concern over the spread of misinformation and the impact it had on her family, particularly her elderly mother. Despite the controversy, she maintained that she would not be intimidated into silence or coerced into changing her stance on governance.
She said: “If you know anything about me, I am fearless. Whatever I want to do, I will do. And I will say exactly how I want to say it. I was properly raised by very good parents. Money is the least of my cares. Everybody, including (Sim) Fubara (suspended Rivers State governor), knows that I am not ‘bribeable’. If I were, I wouldn’t be where I am.
