Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has come under fire from Dr. Godknows Igali, the National Chairman of the Pan-Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF), for allegedly acting disrespectfully toward Niger Delta elders during a recent visit to the Presidential Villa.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
In a video clip released by Africa Independent Television (AIT), Dr. Igali lamented the minister’s behavior, stating that it sent the wrong message about leadership and African values.
At some point during the interview, he stated that, “we used to organise retreats for young ministers, and one of the things we taught them was codes of ethics so that they could be decent and not shout at people and use wrong words on elders. We are still Africans for goodness sake. Wike should be called to order.
Speaking further, he added that “these things have many implications because, first, it is the wrong message that we are sending, and some of the traditional rulers of the Niger Delta called me to say, did you take us to the Villa to be insulted this way? some said, do you know I retired from the army in 1975? Where was that minister? I said, sorry, sir, that was not the intention.
“Wike came to meet PANDEF when he wanted to become the governor. I was there in the office when he knelt down before Edwin Clark and Mrs. Jonathan rolled on the floor to beg former President Jonathan to make him governor,” he said.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
