Data from the Nigerian System Operator’s portal (niggrid.org) indicates that the breakdown happened at 1:56 p.m. The grid saw roughly 12 consecutive collapses in 2024, which is consistent with the instability pattern that this incident follows.
As of the report’s submission, the government authority has not yet revealed the reason behind the most recent failure. Nonetheless, it attests to the existence of electricity in certain areas of Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.
