Ojudu revealed that, with former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s help, he planned and executed the impeachment of Fayose. During a Thursday morning appearance on Edmund Obilo’s State Affairs podcast, the former presidential adviser revealed this.
Ojudu claims, “I planned and wrote the script for Fayose’s impeachment in Ekiti.” When he discovered that I had used Obasanjo, he retaliated. “I signed a deal that said Fayose should be impeached, but I also made sure his deputy wasn’t. I brought all of the MPs to Lagos, where I housed them in hotels, fed them, and gave them tours.
“I was a wealthy journalist who received funding from my friends; I wasn’t a senator. They weren’t pleased with him, so I took advantage of that weakness.
Infuriated, Obasanjo ordered the deputy governor’s troops to go back to Ekiti and declare herself the new governor. I called people to oppose her when she arrived, and they were forced to declare an emergency. “You have no honor and integrity,” Justice Daramola said to Fayose after I went to court and presented my case in response to his libel lawsuit against me, which I was represented by Falana.
In the gubernatorial elections, Fayose defeated incumbent Governor Niyi Adebayo to become the second governor of Ekiti on May 29, 2003. He was impeached on October 16, 2006, which ended his reign.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
