According to reports, Nwadigo entered a not guilty plea to the charges read to her. She was arrested after a video of her repeatedly striking the little youngster, Abayomi Micheal, went viral online. This was revealed in a Thursday post on X.com by the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency. According to the announcement, “All parties involved in the ongoing, widely publicized case of child abuse appeared at the Ogba Magistrate Court today, January 9, 2024.” (sic)
Magistrate M.O. Kusanu was given the case. The suspect was read two charges and entered a not guilty plea. According to reports, Nwadigo’s defense attorney requested bail, which the court granted at N200,000. “Her defense attorney requested bail, which the court set at ₦200,000 and two verifiable sureties,” the statement continued. “The case has been postponed until January 18, 2024, for trial, and the suspect has been placed under remand in a correctional facility.”
The public uproar and calls for justice were sparked by the viral video, which showed Nwadigo repeatedly slapping Abayomi while trying to teach him how to write the number six.
