Horror: Local Youths Demand Justice After Unknown Attackers Kill a Herdsman and His Cows

 

The recent murder of a herder and the robbery of cows in several communities in the Agatu Local Government Area, Benue State, have been fiercely denounced by the Agatu Youth Development Initiative (AYDI), according to the DAILY POST. The group said in a statement issued on Saturday that the people responsible for these violent crimes were Agatu’s adversaries of peace.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>

They shared concern over rising criminal activities and reported that more than 210 cows have been killed or stolen in recent months.

AYDI stated that the people behind these attacks are not from Agatu but outsiders who are jealous of the peace and progress in the area since October 2024.

The National President of the group, Ngbede Edoh, and the Woman Leader, Mrs. Rose Onuminya, warned that these crimes could destroy the peaceful efforts made by the local government chairman, Hon. Melvin Ejeh.

They explained that Agatu people have been working with Fulani leaders to maintain peace, with both sides agreeing to respect each other’s cultures and laws.

However, they fear the area could return to violent times if the government does not act fast.

AYDI made it clear that the attackers do not represent Agatu. According to their findings, the criminals are being paid to destroy the peace the community has been enjoying.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
