Speaking in an interview with AIT, Igbe said the conflict between Governor Fubara and Wike is due to Wike wanting Fubara sacked for not following his instructions. He stated that Rivers State generates 25 billion naira IGR monthly, but Wike’s government used to declared the state’s IGR as 12 billion naira monthly. He alleged that Wike wanted Fubara to give him a large portion of Rivers IGR every month but Fubara refused to do so.
In Igbe’s words: “Rivers State government was realizing 25 billion IGR every month, Nyesom Wike’s government was declaring only 12 billion naira. And this 12 billion naira Nyesom Wike wanted 50 percent of it, that is 6 billion, and giving Governor Fubara only 6 billion naira”.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
