A father is seeking justice for his 16-year-old son, who confessed to being sexually raped by a well-known hotelier in Bucknor, Isheri Oshun, Lagos, and who then abruptly became “mentally unstable.” According to Vanguard, the distressed father, Edozie Christian, who works as a spare parts salesman at Lagos’ Ladipo market, claimed that the event began last Christmas when his son told his mother he needed to make a confession before the year ended.
The mother gave their kid confidentiality, but when the child informed her that he and four of his classmates had been enticed to the hotel by the owner of a well-known establishment in the neighborhood, who then sexually assaulted them and threatened to kill them if they told anybody, the mother became alarmed. After the admission, my son began acting irrationally. He made a statement and described his unpleasant experience with the hotelier at the Isheri Osun police station after we drove him there after a few days when he had somewhat sobered up.
Surprisingly, he relapsed and began acting like a crazy person after revealing the names of his classmates who accompanied him to meet the hotel’s CEO. Only one of the students he named bravely showed up with a laptop and offered in-depth stories of how the hotelier stooped on them when the police went to invite them.
He informed investigators that they had gone to the hotel to participate in a TikTok program, but that the hotel’s owner—typically referred to as the CEO—had enticed them into one of the rooms and promised to pay them N5,000 after deceiving them. The student claimed that based on all the evidence, he has been doing this to numerous other students that he typically pays. After using them, he will wipe himself with a white handkerchief and threaten that they will be punished if they talk about the experience.
My son’s condition deteriorated after they testified before the police at the Isheri Osun station, therefore I had to take him to the Mirabel Centre at the General Hospital in Ikeja, Lagos, where he was evaluated by medical professionals. Later, the physicians informed us that although he had symptoms of s0domization, his brain was unaffected. They said that he might be experiencing PTSD from the abuse and suggested that we take him to a mental health facility for additional testing.
After examining him when we arrived at the psychiatric hospital, they suggested that we take him to a different facility specifically designed for teenagers, which is exactly what we did. They then gave us pills and told us to keep a tight eye on him, promising that he will recover in due course. But even though we have been giving him his meds, he is getting worse every day. The hotel owner later dispatched his lawyer to speak with them, despite the police initially telling us that all of their attempts to invite him had failed.
We were also taken aback when the police informed me a few days later that the hotel owner had moved the case to Zone 2, Onikan, Lagos, without even showing up at their station. At this point, they persisted in pressuring me to come to their station so they could transport me to Zone 2, and the police rejected any attempt I made to find out which unit was in charge of the case there.

After that, I made the decision to physically report myself to the AIG at Zone 2, who promptly ordered his men to detain the hotel owner and demand an explanation. Unfortunately, a group of armed and crack police officers who stormed the hotel later were unable to catch him, but they were able to apprehend some of his employees. Police sources claim that detectives detained and questioned the hotel’s suspected owner. The suspect is still being held until the conclusion of the investigators’ investigation.
